yardman 2025
I do yard work for a friend's apartment complex. This is my first time doing yard work at any capacity ever. We both entered into this agreement with this understanding.
I honestly really enjoy it, but because it's outdoors, I would never consider doing anything like this for someone I didn't already know that wasn't designated my friend or someone who has helped me out a lot in the past. This person has done both.
Didn't take any pictures because my original mindset was "I don't need to take a picture of everything. Somethings can just exist." Because I'm a social media addict and I fight the urge to take pictures and post sometimes.
But in this case, I definitely should have taken pictures to show my work and see how I make progress with this thing I've never done before. And also show other people if more friends or helpful community members are considering asking me for assistance.
I've always liked working with my hands and seeing tangible results, so I'm not surprised that I'm legit enjoying doing yard work. But I don't operate at any professional capacity, because I would never want there to be a set expectation for how many hours I'm willing to be out in the heat.
I'm also learning a new set of skills! Identifying plants and all that! This is a surprisingly super fun learning experience! I am willing to do this more often, but the pool of people I'm going to do this for is frugal.
Just wanted to post some thoughts and feelings as a first-time yard man.
