yesterday...

Yesterday, at 4:30 a.m., the City of Minneapolis rearranged George Floyd square and attempt to reopen the flow of traffic on 38th and chicago. Even though a few community members try to aid them in such through various means, the majority of the community, and people from the surrounding areas protested and persisted and 38th and Chicago remains closed to vehicle traffic and remains pedestrian only. The city removed the Jerry barricades, the Porta potties, the hand washing stations and various other things. They did not remove the art, and they redirected the traffic to be slow. The traffic lights were turned back on, which makes things more confusing. People thought the street was open for traffic, and had to come up to the street to find out that the community is still blocking it off.

Yesterday, I was fundraising, networking, and a part of the medic team. I think I was the only black person that was on the team at that time, and I was out there between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for my first day being on the team, it was intense enough even though nothing happened at the square.

However...

In uptown, Minneapolis Police department murdered another black man. People became split on where they should and shouldn't be, and the protesters that went to uptown were arrested with plastic bags put over their heads.

For the record, the police were not involved and what happened with George Floyd square yesterday morning.
